Overnight in Siem Reap.
Today provides the perfect opportunity to gain a better understanding of Cambodian rural life, along with an insight into traditional Khmer culture; something which few visitors are lucky enough to experience. Departing after breakfast accompanied by your guide, you’ll spend the day travelling through a number of relatively un-touched villages and learning about the day-to-day lives of the local people. This is a world away from Siem Reap, and provides you with the perfect opportunity to get ‘off the beaten track’. Your first stop is one of the villages, which is a small village made up of farmers and itinerant workers. The families typically struggle to meet daily needs, and often struggle for food, and where you will visit the rice plantation and see farmers busy at work in their fields and you may even join them for some hands-on experience to learning how to farm (The various stages of rice farming: Land preparation, Power sources, Planting, Weed and Pest control, Fertilization, Irrigation, and Harvesting – but Oct/Nov will be the harvesting season, so you spend time in the rice fields learning how to harvest!) The trip will also include the time without the benefit of air-conditioning, using a more typical method of transportation for this region. The (almost!) pollution free ox and cart is still widely used throughout Cambodia, and allows you to travel at a gentle, almost hypnotic pace along the narrow, village roads. After that, we travel to visit a home of a local family who will warmly welcome you to visit their house and enjoy a home-made lunch with a soft drink and a bottle of water altogether with their households. There will be plenty of time to relax and chat with the family as they prepare lunch (with your guide acting as interpreter). If you wish to assist then you are very welcome to do so, and this is also a fantastic opportunity to further your understanding of typical Khmer cuisine. This is likely to be very different from the dishes you may have sampled in the more westerner-orientated restaurants! Having enjoyed your lunch before returning to Siem Reap.
Meal: Local home-made lunch
In the afternoon, visit APOPO Visitor Center is a global non-profit organization that trains African giant pouched rats (fondly nicknamed ‘Hero RATs’) to save lives by detecting landmines. Here, you will have chance to discover the history of conflict in Cambodia, the impact of landmines on local communities. Early evening, hop on a motorbike/ scooter (with driver) or Tuk Tuk to explore local street food. Siem Reap Food Tours provides personal guided evening expeditions for small groups through the heart of Siem Reap. The tours provide a unique opportunity to learn about Cambodian life and culture. You’ll sample authentic Khmer dishes in a variety of off-the-beaten-tourist-path settings, from street-side food stalls to busy local markets. We'll introduce you to popular Khmer market specialties and street snacks, plus a few of Cambodia's exotic tropical fruits. We will end our tours with cocktail at Ms Wong pub - Overnight in Siem Reap.
Breakfast at the hotel – spend your last morning for departure visit the Tonle sap where we will enjoy a boat ride (private boat and guide) on the Tonle Sap lake. This is the largest permanent fresh-water lake in South East Asia and flows into Tonle Sap River, joining the Mekong in Phnom Penh. We will see a fishermen's "floating village" with floatting schools, floatting police station, etc. It is same as a big village floatting on the lake, and the "village" move from place to place following water levels and curant. Transfer to the airport for flight departure

An amazing experience!! We were a group of friends and family who travelled to Phu Quoc in June. We connected with Queenie and she was absolutely fantastic through the planning, execution and while on the trip. We had a member drop off due to medical emergence, then another came on board just a week before the trip. All this was handled with quick efficiency. She was always just a quick msg away. The car was excellent and driver a polite and thorough gentleman. We were given all the details and she gave reminders a day before too. Would highly recommend the company especially Queenie for your Vietnam sojourns.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Saigon - Shopping paradise with Elsa Our trip to Saigon was truly memorable. The city has unpredictable weather with sudden sunshine and rain, but that is part of its unique charm. Saigon is also a shopping paradise where you can easily find local souvenirs, and modern shopping malls. What impressed us the most was the kindness and friendliness of the local people who always made us feel welcome and comfortable. We would especially like to give our sincere thanks to V, our wonderful tour guide, for being so enthusiastic and helpful throughout the journey. Special thanks also to VanLao and Anna from the office for their excellent support and careful arrangements that helped make our group trip smooth and enjoyable.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()
